the only antidote for the little Mosquitos (At Nosy Be are called Mokafui)
Dry season
It goes from April to September. April and May are months when the water temperature is among the most pleasant, there is still plankton in the sea that makes us hope for unexpected meetings with the big filterers of the sea! The visibility starts to improve and the amount of fish in this period is really extraordinary! In June and July the water becomes clearer, and the visibility is among the best of the year due to the almost total absence of plankton. In August there is the most awaited event for us, the arrival of the Humpback Whales, and, although the flights will start to be more expensive and the island is more crowded with tourists, it is definitely worth not lose the extraordinary meeting with these mammals marine that migrate in the waters of Nosy be in this period to mate, give birth and breastfeed the puppy. We will see them as protagonists until around the end of September / mid-October.
Wet season
It goes from October to December. It is in this period that the sea starts to fill with plankton, visibility is greatly reduced, but if it were not so, he would not arrive, another good giant of the sea, the biggest fish in the world, The WHALE SHARK. We have the best sightings in November, but will keep us company until the middle of January.
Raining season
Begin by mid-January and finish in mid-March. These are months in which it is easier to run into gloomy and rainy days, risking to spend the whole holiday closed in your hotel room.
